Kusempondo Zankomo

Silver ring with Horns

The above image is of a ring that I made. It is inspired by a Zulu saying that says Kusempondo Zankomo meaning the appearance of the light before the sun rise and Kusempondo Zankomo reflects to the appearance of cow horns in which in the farm land when you wake up early in the morning the first thing you see when looking at the kraal is the cow horns.

The silver in my ring represents the sunrise and the horns on the side indicates the shadow of horns. The ring is made of one silver band and 2 pierced horns bands and a silver inner sleeve. To attach everything together I used a ring sizer to expand the inner sleeve to the bands.
